The days of flea collars and dips for dogs could soon be over if a new pet product developed by an Austin company catches on further.
In January, Energetic Solutions LLC — operated by sisters Melissa Mowrer Rogers and Kathy Heiney — launched shoo!TAG™, a pet product that repels insects by emitting a magnetic frequency. Starting with a $90,000 seed investment from friends and angel investors, the eight-person company has already garnered orders totaling $1.5 million.
And that’s sans advertising.
Next month, it plans to introduce a version of the tag for people that is designed to ward off mosquitoes and ticks.
